A Brief History of Bow Mar
Bow Mar incorporated in 1958 as a residential town spanning parts of Arapahoe and Jefferson counties. Its name combines those of nearby Bowles and Marston lakes. Unlike many Colorado communities established around mining or railroads, Bow Mar's municipal history belongs to the Denver area's growth as a place of suburban neighborhoods and recreation.
