A Brief History of Brush
Brush takes its name from cattleman Jared L. Brush, who helped develop northeastern Colorado and later served as lieutenant governor. Although he lived in Greeley, his ties to the town included helping organize its first rodeo in 1884. Ranching and that early community celebration remain important threads in the town's history.
