A Brief History of Cascade
Cascade developed along the Colorado Midland Railroad's Ute Pass route during the 1880s. Its waterfalls and wooded canyon helped make it a resort community rather than simply a stop on the rails. The town's history reflects the growing importance of scenic travel and mountain holidays in the Pikes Peak region.
