A Brief History of Cedaredge
Cedaredge developed around the former Bar-I Cattle Ranch near Grand Mesa. Sophie Kohler's description of the location at the edge of the cedars supplied its name; the post office combined the words in 1894. Town lots, a park and a hotel followed, and the community incorporated in 1907.
