A Brief History of Chipita Park
Chipita Park was once called Ute Park. In 1927, Frank Marcroft bought the property and renamed the development for Chipeta, the Ute leader whose name the community spells Chipita. A lodge, lake and local services helped shape its identity as a small mountain resort community in Ute Pass.
