A Brief History of Clark
Clark's early community life developed along the Elk River in the ranching and mining country north of Steamboat Springs. Hannah Emily Clark applied to operate a post office on her homestead in 1889. That combination of a family home, mail service and nearby trade helped establish a lasting gathering place in the valley.
