A Brief History of Cotopaxi
Cotopaxi holds an important place in Colorado's Jewish history. In 1882, Jewish immigrants from the Russian Empire attempted to establish an agricultural colony here, hoping to build independent farming lives. Difficult conditions undermined the effort, and many families later moved to Denver, carrying the colony's legacy into the city's Jewish community.
