A Brief History of Crawford
Crawford's settlement history reaches into the early 1880s, when families near Needle Rock needed a local post office. Historical accounts associate the community's name with George Crawford, although details of the naming story differ. Its growth reflects the ranching and homesteading communities that developed on Colorado's Western Slope.
