A Brief History of Glendevey
Glendevey was a small Larimer County settlement whose history is closely tied to rural mail service. Its post office opened in 1902 and moved several times before service ended in 1975. Postal records show that the office became a rural branch in 1963, first linked to Jelm, Wyoming, and later to Walden, Colorado. Denver Public Libraryβs place-name index distinguishes the earlier lodge and post-office site, spelled Glendevy, from the later Glendevey location. These changing sites and postal connections document a dispersed mountain settlement rather than an incorporated town.
