Gould, Colorado

Discover the local history behind this Colorado community.

A Brief History of Gould

Gould’s history is closely connected to forestry in North Park. The nearby Colorado State Forest Building Complex preserves log buildings erected between 1927 and the 1940s, including a garage and office built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Cabins, a main house and a horse barn recall the working landscape of forest employees and conservation crews. Built with timber from the surrounding forests, these structures combine practical local construction with Rustic architectural design. The complex entered the National Register of Historic Places in 2017, preserving an important part of the forestry heritage surrounding this unincorporated Jackson County community.
