A Brief History of Livermore
Livermore is an unincorporated community in northern Larimer County whose school history records the growth of a rural settlement. School District No. 9 was established in 1871 to serve 25 families in the area. A schoolhouse built in 1884 remained in use until a replacement opened in 1953, linking generations of local children to the same community institution. In 1961, the district joined the newly consolidated Poudre School District. These changes trace nearly a century of local education, from a small independent district to a school within a larger regional system.
